When the health care needs of a growing north Baldwin County surpassed the services provided by the town’s existing hospital in the 1960s, a hospital board formed to raise funds for a new facility. In 1970, Bay Minette Infirmary opened with 55 beds. The name later changed to North Baldwin Hospital.
Infirmary Health acquired the hospital in 2001 and changed the name to North Baldwin Infirmary. An affiliation with the region’s leading health care provider offers the surrounding communities greater access to state-of-the-art medical services.
In 2005, North Baldwin Infirmary unveiled a $25 million renovation and expansion. With an additional 63,800 square feet, the hospital now provides diagnostics with full-service MRI, x-ray, CT, digital mammography and nuclear medicine; a surgical suite with three surgical rooms; obstetrics with five full-service birthing rooms and cesarean section suite; a five-bed intensive care unit; and a state-of-the-art wellness center with an Olympic-size pool.
The latest technology and personalized care make North Baldwin Infirmary the hospital of choice for high-quality, community-based health care.
